9/11 –Visiting Ground Zero (2009)

Voices Education Project included my poem for Voices Education Project, Education packet on 9/11

Still two huge holes
surrounded by wood fence.

Countless people stop by,
heads bowed, fingers crossed.

Inside: permanent monuments printed;
outside: names on names recalled.

Still they lie without response.
Unsettled, we cross the path,

move on.

-2009, I visited Ground Zero and wrote this poem.
