May is Asian Heritage Month. This acknowledges the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to Canada. It also provides an opportunity for Canadians across the country to reflect on and celebrate the contributions of Canadians of Asian heritage to the growth and prosperity of Canada. I hope
you are not surprised to read
The Odyssey I sent to you,
from this stranger you have never met
who just by chance read… your poems.
See the slipper orchids
blooming beside someone’s glass window…
I want to tell you –
we are passersby on parted journeys,
and you might sigh:
oh, they are beckoning a dancer. ..
yet soon they will fade in winds.
But let me assure you –
since then they have danced in my heart.
